Enter your price, costs, creator commission and ad cost. The calculator subtracts TikTok's referral fee and shows what each order nets, your margin, the commission that would take you to zero, and your monthly profit.
Short answer
Net per TikTok Shop order is price minus product cost, shipping, TikTok's 6% US referral fee, the creator commission on the share of orders that come through creators, and ad cost per order. Example: a $30 order with $8 product cost, $5 shipping, $4 of ads and a 15% commission on half of orders nets $8.95, a 29.8% margin, or $8,950 a month at 1,000 orders. At those numbers the break-even creator commission is 74.7%.

TikTok takes a percentage of every order. A creator takes a commission if the buyer came through their video or LIVE. Ads cost money either way, and then come product and shipping. The calculator subtracts each one and shows what is left.
The part most sellers get wrong is the creator commission. It is not paid on every order, only on affiliate orders. So the calculator asks two things: the rate you pay creators, and the share of your orders that come through them. A 20% commission on 25% of orders costs the same per average order as a 10% commission on 50% of orders.
What the buyer pays before tax. TikTok calculates its fee on the customer payment plus any discount TikTok funds, minus tax. If TikTok funds a discount, use the price before it; if you fund it, use the price after it.
Cost of goods sold: the landed cost of the units in one order, including packaging and freight to your warehouse or 3PL (third-party logistics warehouse).
What you pay to get the order to the buyer, plus any pick-and-pack fee. If you offer free shipping, this is a real cost and it belongs here.
A percentage of each order. TikTok's US page says 6%, with a 5% to 6% range by category, and that it covers all TikTok Shop fees except shipping and tax.
The affiliate rate you set on a product or in a targeted plan. You pay it only on orders a creator drove.
Your monthly TikTok ad spend, including GMV Max (TikTok's automated shop ads), divided by every order that month, not just the ad-attributed ones.
This is an example with made-up inputs, not a benchmark. It is the same math the calculator runs.
Creator orders still make money at 15%, so there is room to raise the commission to win better creators. The 74.7% break-even is a ceiling, not a target: at that rate the average order earns nothing and every creator order loses money. Pick a commission well below it and leave room for returns and samples.
TikTok's US seller page says the referral fee is "6% per order" on qualified transactions from April 1, 2024, and that rates run "5%-6% based on the category." It also says the fee covers all TikTok Shop fees except shipping and tax. There is no separate payment-processing fee. Source: TikTok Shop Seller University, referral fee updates, updated May 8, 2025, checked Oct 22, 2026.
When an order is refunded, TikTok returns the referral fee minus 20% of it, capped at $5 per SKU from May 15, 2025. It does not apply to creator sample refunds or to buyer refunds before shipment that meet the auto-cancel rules. The calculator does not include it, because it depends on your return rate.
TikTok does not set your commission or your ad budget. Both are choices, which is why they are inputs here. Our TikTok Shop fees, commissions and payouts guide walks through the full statement and the payout timing.
If net per order is below zero, more volume only means a bigger loss. Change price, product cost, shipping or ad cost before you scale.
Compare your commission to the break-even figure. If creators are asking for a rate close to it, the product cannot support an affiliate-led channel at that price, and a bundle or a higher price may be the fix.
If creator orders net far less than direct ones, more creator volume grows sales faster than profit. That can be right for a launch if you choose it on purpose.
Use the settlement statement in Seller Center. This page estimates; TikTok's statement is the record, including returns, adjustments and any campaign fees.
Free samples to creators, and high return rates, change the math more than the commission does. Track them for a month first, then come back with real numbers.
Do not hire an agency to scale it. Fix the unit cost first. An agency, ours included, would be buying volume on a product that loses money on every sale.
