GMV Max is TikTok Shop's automated ad campaign type. It makes most of the choices for you, which means the work moves to the few settings you still control: which products go in, the ROI target, how much video the campaign has to work with, and reading what it actually spent. Here is what GMV Max is, what we do for $995 a month, what is not included and how ad spend is billed.
Short answer
Evolve Media Agency runs TikTok Shop GMV Max ads for $995 a month, for 10 hours of management, covering both Product GMV Max and LIVE GMV Max campaigns, with no percentage of GMV (gross merchandise value, your total shop sales); cancel any month. It covers campaign setup, product selection, ROI targets, feeding in creator and brand video, a weekly spend and ROI read and a monthly report. TikTok bills ad spend to your own card at cost, and we never mark it up. GMV Max is TikTok's automated campaign type: you pick products, an ROI target and a budget, and TikTok chooses the creative, audience and placements.

GMV Max campaign types: Product and LIVE
TikTok ads help center
GMV stands for gross merchandise value: the total value of what your shop sells, before fees and returns. TikTok describes GMV Max as "an automated ad campaign type that optimizes for total channel ROI for your TikTok Shop" (TikTok, about GMV Max campaigns, last updated March 2026). ROI here means return on ad spend: sales divided by what you spent on ads.
GMV Max takes the audience, placement and creative choices away from you. You set the products, an ROI target and a budget. TikTok uses signals from both organic and paid traffic to decide which videos to run, who sees them and where. That is why it needs managing in a different way, not less.
TikTok says it will "automatically choose the products, creative assets and placement options" to drive purchases. It optimizes the shop's total non-LIVE ROI. Source: TikTok, about GMV Max campaigns.
An automated campaign that sends traffic to your LIVE room to get the highest gross revenue for the stream. TikTok defines LIVE ROI as total LIVE room GMV divided by total ad spend. It brings in viewers two ways: your regular videos that lead into the stream (video-to-LIVE) and ads for the stream itself (LIVE-to-LIVE), and TikTok says it fits sellers actively investing in livestreaming. You choose an ROI target and GMV Max spends within that target's range. TikTok's best-practice page says lower ROI targets boost delivery and GMV, and higher targets may limit spend. Source: TikTok, Product GMV Max best practices, last updated June 2026.
GMV Max uses your existing product descriptions, videos and listings. TikTok's best-practice page says the more videos with product links (it calls them anchors), the greater the GMV potential.
TikTok's attribution page says all paid and organic orders for the products in a Product GMV Max campaign are attributed to GMV Max while it is active, whether or not the buyer saw an ad. Source: TikTok, attribution for GMV Max, last updated June 2026.
These are the packages on our TikTok Shop agency page, sold as fixed hour blocks at $100 an hour. Everything is paid 100% upfront. ACH is the normal price; paying by card adds 3.5%. GMV Max management is the only recurring block. The others are one-time setups you buy only if you are missing that piece.

Ten hours a month of management on your GMV Max campaigns: setup, product selection and ROI targets; getting new creator and brand video into the campaign as it is produced; a weekly read of spend and ROI; and a monthly report.
Ad spend is billed to your own card at cost. We do not mark it up, and we take no percentage of it or of your GMV. You set the budget; TikTok spends it within the ROI target.
GMV Max runs on video, and we do not make it inside the $995. Content is priced separately on our pricing page: product video from $395, a UGC review video $495, photos from $295. Creator commissions are yours to pay, separately.
Opening the shop, building the creator program and the LIVE show format are separate blocks: Shop Launch Setup $995, Creator Program Build $795, LIVE Show Kit $595 (6 hours, one coached session). Buy only the ones you are missing.
Our blocks are built to set things up and hand them to you, with ads as the only recurring piece. If you want a full-service operator running everything for a percentage of GMV, that is a different kind of agency, and we will say so on the call.
The fee is flat, so its share of sales falls as the shop grows. At $20,000 of GMV a month, $995 is about 5.0% of GMV. At $50,000 it is about 2.0%. At $100,000 it is about 1.0%. A full year of management is $11,940 ($995 x 12), before ad spend.
GMV Max hides most of the levers, so the job is choosing the right products, setting the ROI target, feeding the campaign enough video and reading the reports for what it is quietly spending on. Here is the order we do it in.
Bring your cost of goods and your price. We run the fee and creator commission math with you on the call and tell you whether paid ads make sense yet, or whether the shop needs more video or better margins first.
We set up GMV Max in your TikTok ads account: which products go in, which ROI target each campaign starts at, and the budget. TikTok's own guidance is to use all available products and prioritize the ones already selling well.
GMV Max picks its own creative from the videos it can find. As your creators and your team post new product videos, we make sure they reach the campaign. TikTok says the more videos with product links, the more GMV the campaign can find.
Each week we read what GMV Max spent, on which products and videos, and what came back. TikTok advises leaving an ROI setting alone for at least three full days, so changes are deliberate, not daily.
Once a month you get a report on spend, GMV, ROI and what we changed and why, plus the products and videos that carried the month.
There is no long-term contract. If the numbers do not justify the fee, you stop.
Worked examples in words. They illustrate the method; they are not client results, and the brands are made up.
Two products drive most sales. We put all 8 in the campaign, as TikTok advises, and start at the system's recommended ROI target. Each week we check which videos GMV Max is spending on. When one creator video carries most of the spend, we ask the brand for more videos in that style, and claims are kept inside what the compliance review allows.
The campaign spends slowly and finds few buyers. The fix is not a lower ROI target to force spend. It is more video. We tell the brand that in week one, point them to the Creator Program Build or our video packages, and hold the target steady while new videos arrive.
Most product sales come from short videos, but the Thursday LIVE show sells the bundles. Product GMV Max covers the catalog. The weekly read looks at what happened in the hours around each show. If the LIVE format itself needs work, that is the LIVE Show Kit, a separate $595 block.
We do not chase the dashboard ROI alone, because GMV Max counts organic orders on its products too. We watch total shop sales, the products and videos taking the spend, and whether the margin still works after creator commission and platform fees.
Between creator commission, platform fees, shipping and samples, a product needs real gross margin to make money here. If the math is tight on Amazon, expect it to be tighter on TikTok Shop, where creator commission is added. Adding ad spend on top makes it tighter.
GMV Max picks from the videos it can find. With a handful of clips, management cannot fix it. Spend on video or a creator program first, then turn ads on.
In our experience, the shops that win have a founder or employee posting several times a week. If that is a hard no, the ceiling is lower, and you should know that before paying for ads.
Ads amplify what is already selling. If the shop is still in setup, listings are being flagged, or inventory sync is not working, start with Shop Launch Setup.
Ten hours a month is ad management, not a team running your shop day to day. If you want a full-service operator for a percentage of GMV, look for that kind of agency.
