Enter your flow volume, open, click and conversion rates, average order and store revenue. The calculator shows expected monthly flow revenue, what share of the store that is, and how far you are from a benchmark built from two dated 2026 sources that you can edit.
Short answer
Expected flow revenue is flow emails delivered times click rate times the share of clickers who buy times average order value. Example: 20,000 flow emails a month at Klaviyo's 5.58% good flow click rate, 20% of clickers buying and a $50 order is $11,160, or 11.2% of a $100,000 store. Against a benchmark of 12.3% (Eightx's 30% email share of revenue times Klaviyo's 41% flow share of email revenue), that is $1,140 a month short.

Flows are the automated emails that send when someone does something: joins the list, leaves a cart, browses a product, buys, or goes quiet. Campaigns are the one-off sends you schedule. This calculator covers flows only.
Flow revenue comes from three numbers multiplied together: how many flow emails go out, how many of those get a click, and how many clickers buy. Multiply by average order value and you have a monthly figure. Open rate is shown but not used in the revenue math, because Apple Mail Privacy Protection loads images automatically and inflates opens. Clicks are a cleaner signal.
Enter it directly from your email tool, or estimate it: live flows times people entering each flow per month times emails per flow. Six flows with 1,000 entries each and 3 emails per flow is 18,000 emails.
Clicks divided by emails delivered. If your tool shows click-to-open rate instead (clicks divided by opens), multiply it by your open rate first.
Orders divided by clicks. Cart flows convert far better than win-back flows, so a blended number across all flows is what belongs here.
Revenue divided by orders. Use the AOV of orders from email if you have it, since it can differ from the store average.
Two editable numbers multiplied together: the share of store revenue that email drives, times the share of email revenue that flows drive. The defaults are explained in the next section.
Klaviyo's benchmark page says flows "generate nearly 41% of total email revenue from just 5.3% of sends," and gives 2026 good flow rates of 32.2% open and 5.58% click (top 10%: 45.8% and 10.48%). It draws on over 183,000 Klaviyo customers. The page's metadata shows it was published January 23, 2026 and updated September 24, 2026. Eightx, a fractional CFO firm, wrote on June 27, 2026 that brands running email as a retention system with deep flows average 30% to 40% of total store revenue from email. It puts broadcast-led brands at 15% to 20%. It names no data source for those two ranges, so treat them as a published estimate. Klaviyo does not publish a flow share of total store revenue. The 12.3% default is our arithmetic on the two figures above (30% times 41%), not a number either source prints. If you run a broadcast-led program, 15% times 41% gives about 6.2%. Change either box to match the brands you compare yourself to.
An example with made-up list and store numbers, using the sourced default rates. It is the same math the calculator runs.
A $1,140 monthly gap is about $13,700 a year. That is the number to weigh against the cost of fixing it, whether you do the work yourself or hire it out. Klaviyo's page says its top 10% of flows reach revenue per recipient as high as $7.79, so the ceiling is far above this example. The usual fixes are more volume (a missing browse or post-purchase flow), better clicks (offer and creative), or better conversion (the landing page). Our ecommerce email flows guide covers which flows to build first.
Flow revenue scales with traffic. At a small list the gap is a few hundred dollars, and growing the list matters more than tuning flows. Build the welcome and cart flows yourself first.
Amazon does not give you buyer emails, so store revenue from Amazon cannot flow through your email tool. Enter only the revenue your list can reach.
If the gap is negative, flows are not your bottleneck. Spend on traffic, product or campaigns instead, and do not pay anyone, us included, to rebuild flows that work.
Start with deliverability and list health before flows. Our guide on why an email list is not making money walks the checks in order.
