How To Add A Video To Your Amazon Listing Every Placement (2026)

Amazon has five places a brand can put video, five different tools to get it there, and a menu path that changes depending on who you ask. This is the full upload guide: where each button lives, who is allowed to press it, and what to check when the video never shows up.

Quick Answer

To add a video to your Amazon listing, log in to Seller Central and open the video uploader, usually found under Catalog (or Inventory) as Upload and Manage Videos. Click Upload Video, add an MP4 or MOV file, a thumbnail and a descriptive title, attach every ASIN the video applies to, including each child ASIN in a variation family, and submit. Review usually takes one to three days, longer in the fourth quarter. Amazon says Brand Registry is not required for listing video: you need a Professional selling account, at least three months of selling history and live listings, and you can add up to four videos per ASIN. The video only shows in the main media block if the product has fewer than six images. Newer or non-Professional accounts can use Related Video Shorts lower on the page, where anyone connected to the brand must disclose it. Premium A+ video goes through A+ Content Manager, Brand Store video through the Store builder, and Sponsored Brands video through the Amazon Ads console. Menu names vary by account and region, so if a path here does not match your screen, search the Seller Central menu for "video."

Most sellers who cannot find the video uploader are looking in the right place. Amazon just named it something else in their account.

Every how-to guide on this topic gives one confident menu path. Read five of them and you get four different paths: Catalog, Inventory, Brands and Advertising. They describe the same uploader in different accounts and years. This guide gives each route, then covers all five video placements, who can use each, and what to check when an approved video does not appear.

Disclosure

Evolve Media Agency produces Amazon product video, so we have an interest in you putting more of it on your listings. Section 12 covers when you should skip hiring anyone. Menu paths and eligibility rules below were checked against Amazon Ads and Amazon Stores help pages and several 2026 seller guides on October 15, 2026. Those sources disagree in places, and we say so where they do. Your own Seller Central screen is the final word.

This post covers getting a finished video onto Amazon. If you still need to make the video, start with how to make an Amazon product video, which covers the script, shoot and edit. If you need file specs for each placement, the Amazon video specs cheat sheet has them. This post is the upload and placement guide.

Where Can You Add Video On Amazon?

A brand can put video in five places on Amazon, each with its own tool, eligibility rule and review queue.

Two places older guides still recommend are gone: Amazon discontinued Posts on July 31, 2025, and Amazon Inspire shut down in February 2025.

02/12 Section

Do You Need Brand Registry?

Not for the listing video. Amazon's own Selling Partner Blog says sellers do not need a brand enrolled in Brand Registry to add video to a product detail page. Brand Registry still controls Premium A+ video, Brand Store video and Sponsored Brands video.

Here are the listing video rules as Amazon states them:

  • A Professional selling account. Individual accounts do not qualify.
  • At least three months of selling history, for brand-registered and non-registered sellers alike.
  • Live product listings to attach the video to.
  • Up to four videos per ASIN.
  • Fewer than six images on the product for the video to appear in the main media block at the top of the page. Section 4 covers what to do about it.

Many 2026 guides still say top-of-page video needs Brand Registry. That stopped being true in June 2023, when Value Added Resource reported Amazon had opened listing video to non-registered sellers. The real gates now are account type, account age and image count.

PlacementWhat Amazon RequiresIf You Do Not Qualify
Main media block videoProfessional account, three months of selling history, live listing, fewer than six imagesRelated Video Shorts until the account qualifies

Premium A+ videoBrand Registry plus Premium A+ eligibilityStandard A+ has no video
Brand Store videoBrand Registry and a StoreNo Store access
Sponsored Brands videoBrand Registry, per Amazon AdsNo Sponsored Brands access

If you meet the rules and still cannot find the uploader, the problem is usually the menu or user permissions, which section 3 covers. If you are under three months or on an Individual plan, Related Video Shorts in section 6 is the option for now. For the placements that do need it, the Brand Registry and trademark playbook covers getting enrolled.

03/12 Section

Finding The Video Uploader In Seller Central

The uploader is called Upload and Manage Videos. Amazon's own blog puts it under Catalog, and other guides report Inventory or a brand menu. The path changes by account type, region and interface update, which is why guides disagree.

Here is every route our sources reported, with who reported it. Try them in this order.

route 1 Catalog > Upload and Manage Videos # Amazon Selling Partner Blog; Sparkhouse route 2 Inventory > Upload & Manage Videos # Gorilla ROI, Feb 2026; Koro, Mar 2026 route 3 Catalog > Upload Images > Videos tab # Amazon: same uploader via Image Manager route 4 Brands or Advertising menu # Gourmet Ads, Apr 2026: labels vary by region vendors Items > Upload and Manage Videos # Amalytix, Jul 2025; Koro, Mar 2026

The fastest route on any account is the Seller Central search box. Type "video" and the uploader appears if your account has it. Bookmark it.

If none of these routes works, check permissions before you assume you are ineligible. My Amazon Guy and Gourmet Ads both list missing permissions as a common reason the tool does not appear. On accounts with several users, ask the primary account holder to check your user permissions for brand and content tools.

Vendor Central

Vendors use the same kind of uploader under Items. Amalytix reports it takes MOV or MP4 up to 1080p and 5 GB and shows Published once approved. The rest of this guide applies to vendors with that one menu difference.

04/12 Section

Add Video To The Main Image Carousel

The main image carousel is the placement that matters most, because it sits next to your photos where shoppers decide. Uploading takes about five minutes once the file is ready, but check one thing first.

Count Your Images First

Amazon says a video only appears in the main media block when the product has fewer than six images. Many listings fill every slot. Count yours. If you have six or more and the video matters more, delete the weakest image, usually a near-duplicate angle or an infographic that repeats a bullet. The video can do that job better.

  1. Open Upload and Manage Videos using one of the routes in section 3, then click Upload Video.
  2. Add the video file. MP4 or MOV. Export 1920x1080 in 16:9 and keep the file small enough to upload cleanly. Every current spec is in the video specs cheat sheet.
  3. Write a title that describes what the video shows. "Leak test: upside down in a bag" tells shoppers why to tap.
  4. Add a custom thumbnail. A sharp frame with the product large and centered. Auto-selected frames are often blurry mid-motion.
  5. Attach the ASINs. Add every ASIN the video applies to. For a variation family, add each child ASIN you want it on, not only the parent. Section 5 explains why.
  6. Submit for review. Amazon says approved videos typically appear within three days, and holiday reviews can take up to seven business days.
  7. Check the live listing on a phone. Confirm the video shows in the carousel, the thumbnail is right and the captions read at phone size.

If a video needs to be live for a launch or a Lightning Deal, upload it at least a week ahead.

Amazon allows up to four videos per ASIN. Two behaviors to know. Helium 10 reports the detail page tends to favor the most recently uploaded video, so upload your most important one last; Amazon does not document the order. And you cannot edit a video after upload. A fix means a new file, a new review and removing the old one.

05/12 Section

Variations And Child ASINs

A video attached only to the parent ASIN may not show on the variation a shopper actually lands on. Attach it to every child ASIN you want it on.

Shoppers almost never see a parent ASIN. They land on a specific color or size, and that child page is where the carousel loads. A Seller Forums thread describes a video approved and published in Manage Videos that appeared on none of its listings, with the seller suspecting the parent-only assignment. It had no confirmed resolution, so the theory is unproven. Adding the children costs nothing and removes the variable.

Which Children Get Which Video Decide Before Upload
Case 1
Color Or Pattern Only

One video works for every child if it shows the product in use. Attach it to all of them. Show the variant lineup near the end so each shopper sees their color.

Case 2
Different Sizes

A scale shot of the large size misleads the shopper buying the small one. Make one cut per size, or a single cut that shows every size next to a known object.

Case 3
Different Function

A bundle versus a single unit, or a model with a feature the others lack. These need separate videos, because a demo of a feature the shopper is not buying is a return reason.

Case 4
Child Added Later

New children do not inherit videos. When you add a color, go back to the uploader and attach the existing video to the new ASIN.

06/12 Section

Related Video Shorts For New Accounts

Related Video Shorts is a section lower on the detail page where shoppers and creators can post videos. It is open to anyone with a customer account, which makes it the fallback for sellers who do not yet qualify for listing video: accounts under three months old or on an Individual plan.

The steps are simple. Sign in to a customer account, open the product page, scroll to the video section below the product details, and click Upload your video. Add a title, submit, and the video goes to review. Gourmet Ads notes the ASIN is usually detected from the page you upload on.

The catch is who uploads. Helium 10 notes you cannot do it from your own buyer account, and many guides suggest asking a friend or family member to post it. Amazon's Community Guidelines allow people with a financial connection to post content other than reviews and Q&A, but they require that the connection be clearly disclosed, and they do not allow content whose main purpose is promotion. A brand video posted by the founder's cousin with no disclosure fits neither rule.

The Common Advice Has A Problem

"Have a friend upload it" is the most repeated tip for sellers who cannot use the uploader, and it puts the risk on your listing. If someone connected to you posts, they should say so in the title or description, and the video should help a shopper use or judge the product rather than advertise it. A setup walkthrough or an honest size comparison fits. A polished brand spot does not.

Done honestly, this section is still useful, and an insert asking happy buyers to share a setup video is a reasonable way to fill it. You control almost nothing there: not the placement or the order.

07/12 Section

Add Video To Premium A+ Content

Standard A+ does not support video. Premium A+ does, and you add it in A+ Content Manager by building a Premium document with a video module.

Qualifying used to be the hard part, and may no longer be. Amazon does not publish one eligibility page for Premium A+, and the criteria repeated across seller forums and agency guides are two: a published A+ Brand Story on every brand-owned ASIN in your catalog, and at least 15 approved A+ submissions in the past 12 months. SellerApp lists those two as of September 2026. An Amazon moderator in Seller Forums described it as five recent approved projects instead, and Amalyze says the threshold varies by marketplace. Agencies Parker-Lambert and Olifant Digital report Amazon removed these prerequisites in May 2026. Premium A+ itself is free for eligible brands, per beBold Digital as of September 2026.

1 Advertising > A+ Content Manager 2 Start creating A+ > Premium A+ (if badge shows) 3 Add a video module 4 Upload video + poster frame + module copy 5 Apply ASINs, preview on mobile, submit # Vendors: look under Merchandising > A+ Content # No Premium badge = account not eligible yet

Review estimates differ: Amalyze says 24 to 72 hours, Gourmet Ads three to five business days. Editing live Premium content sends it back through review, so batch your changes.

A+ video does a different job: the shopper already scrolled past your photos, so a longer demo or materials story fits. Our Premium vs Standard A+ framework covers whether qualifying is worth the effort, and the A+ rejection fixes guide covers what moderation sends back.

08/12 Section

Add Video To Your Brand Store

Brand Store video is added in the Store builder, as a tile. You choose between a Video tile that plays on tap and a Background Video tile that loops silently behind other content.

  1. Open the Store builder. In Seller Central, go to Stores, then Manage Stores, then Edit Store on the Store you want. This path has been stable for years, per My Amazon Guy.
  2. Pick the page. Video does the most work on the home page hero and on category pages where Sponsored Brands ads send traffic.
  3. Add a section and choose the tile. In the tile manager on the right, click Add new section, then select Video or Background Video.
  4. Upload the file and a cover image. The tile manager shows the current dimension and size limits at upload, and the cover image is required.
  5. Preview on mobile. Check that any text in the video reads at phone size. Amazon's Stores help lists this as a pre-publish check.
  6. Submit for publishing. The whole Store goes to moderation, which Amazon's Stores help says can take several days. The draft is locked while it is in review, so finish every edit first.

The two tiles need different edits. A Background Video tile plays muted and loops, so it needs one continuous motion shot with no cuts and no text. The Video tile can carry your full listing edit.

Because the Store locks during moderation, schedule Store video changes at least a week before a sale. The Brand Store guide covers where each tile type belongs in the layout.

09/12 Section

Add A Sponsored Brands Video Ad

Sponsored Brands video is built in the Amazon Ads console, not Seller Central. You create a Sponsored Brands campaign, pick the Video ad format and upload your cut there.

  1. Open Campaign Manager in your Amazon Ads account and click Create campaign, then Sponsored Brands.
  2. Choose a goal and set the basics: name, schedule and budget. Amazon Ads says there is no minimum spend and budgets can start as low as $10.
  3. Select Video as the ad format.
  4. Choose the landing page. Amazon Ads lists two main options: your Brand Store or a product detail page. Some goals only allow the Store. Decide this before you edit.
  5. Upload the video and check the preview for cropping and text placement. Amazon Ads supports 16:9 and 9:16, and recommends 15 to 30 seconds with the product shown in the first two seconds.
  6. Set targeting and bids, then submit. Amazon says Sponsored Brands ads are generally reviewed within 72 hours.

The ad review is stricter than the listing review, so a video approved on your detail page can still be rejected as an ad. The Sponsored Brands Video guide covers campaign structure and bidding, and the specs cheat sheet has the full encoding rules.

Why Is My Video Not Showing?

A missing video is almost always one of five things: it is still in review, it was rejected, it is on the wrong ASIN, it is on the parent instead of the child, or you are checking the wrong screen. Work down this table in order.

SymptomLikely CauseWhat To Do
Status says in reviewStill in the queueWait up to a week in peak season before doing anything
Status says rejectedA content or quality ruleRead the notice; fix the edit and upload a new file (section 11)
Approved, not on one color or sizeAttached to the parent or a different childOpen the video in the uploader and add the missing child ASINs
Approved, on the wrong productASIN typo at uploadRemove that ASIN from the video and attach the correct one
Shows on desktop, not on the appCache or layout differenceCheck in a private browser and a logged-out app session before escalating
Uploader missing entirelyPermissions, Individual plan or under three months of historyAsk the primary account holder to check your user permissions
Approved, attached correctly, still missing after a weekUnknownOpen a Seller Support case with the ASINs and the video title

One cause is easy to miss: image count. Amazon's Selling Partner Blog says the product must have fewer than six images for video to appear in the main media block. If an approved video is missing from the top of the page, count the images, and drop the weakest one if the video matters more.

On the last row, give Seller Support specifics. In the forum thread we found about an approved video missing from every listing, the Amazon moderator asked for a case ID and the ASIN details. Lead with those.

11/12 Section

What To Do When A Video Is Rejected

A rejection notice names the reason, and the fix is nearly always a re-edit. You cannot edit an uploaded video, so the fix ships as a new upload.

The reasons 2026 sources cite most often, and that we see in client notices, fall into four groups.

  • Claims. "Best," "number one," "clinically proven," cure or treatment language, and anything you cannot document.
  • Promotion. Prices, discounts, "sale," "free shipping," time-limited offers, and URLs or "visit our website" text. The listing shows the price. Off-Amazon links are not allowed.
  • Branding. Amazon logos, badges like Amazon's Choice, competitor brand names and visible third-party logos on props.
  • Quality. Resolution below 1280x720, black bars from vertical footage in a 16:9 frame, blank or static frames at the start or end, and text too small to read on a phone.

Fix what the notice names, plus anything else on that list you spot on a second watch. Each rejection costs another review cycle.

Definition

Content moderation on Amazon is the review every brand-uploaded asset goes through before it goes live, including listing videos, A+ documents, Store pages and ads. Each queue is separate, with its own timing and its own strictness, so approval in one place does not carry over to another.

The full list of reasons, with fixes, is in section 8 of the specs cheat sheet.

12/12 Section

Upload It Yourself Or Hand It Off

Uploading is not a reason to hire anyone. Every step here is a short job once the video exists, and you know your variation families better than an outside team does.

Skip hiring entirely when any of these is true:

  • You already have a good video. Footage from a launch or social post often works. Re-export it to spec and upload it this week.
  • Your product demo is simple. A phone, a window and the process in our video creation guide will cover most of the value.
  • Your account is under three months old. You cannot use the listing video uploader yet, so spending on production now means footage that sits in a folder.

Hiring makes sense when you need the video itself, especially when one shoot has to feed several placements: a carousel cut, an A+ module, a Store loop and a Sponsored Brands ad. That cut list is where most of the value of a professional shoot comes from. For reference, our listing video packages are $395 (20 seconds, hand model, solid background), $695 (30 seconds, lifestyle scene) and $895 (45 seconds, full-body model and scripted read). If you already have footage, our Amazon Ad Cut Pack turns it into three Sponsored Brands cuts for $295. Current prices are always on the pricing page.

If you want the video made, our Amazon product video service covers the shoot and every cut, and the video ads production page covers the ad versions. Either way, do the upload yourself. You will catch the child ASIN the uploader missed.

Key Takeaways

What To Remember

  • The Amazon video uploader is called Upload and Manage Videos, and 2026 guides place it under Catalog, Inventory or a Brands menu depending on the account; searching the Seller Central menu for "video" finds it fastest.
  • Amazon has five brand video placements: the main image carousel, Related Video Shorts, Premium A+, the Brand Store and Sponsored Brands video, each with its own tool and review queue.
  • Amazon does not require Brand Registry for listing video: it requires a Professional account, three months of selling history and live listings, and allows up to four videos per ASIN.
  • Amazon only shows video in the main media block when a product has fewer than six images, so drop the weakest image if the video matters more.
  • Amazon says approved listing videos typically appear within three days, and holiday reviews can take up to seven business days, so upload at least a week before a launch or deal.
  • Premium A+ video requires Premium A+ eligibility, which sources tie to a Brand Story on every ASIN plus a run of approved A+ projects, though the exact count is disputed.
  • Sponsored Brands video is set up in the Amazon Ads console, not Seller Central, and Amazon says those ads are generally reviewed within 72 hours.

Questions

Twelve questions sellers ask when a video will not upload or will not show.
How do I add a video to my Amazon listing?

In Seller Central, open Upload and Manage Videos, usually under Catalog or Inventory, and click Upload Video. Add an MP4 or MOV file, a custom thumbnail and a descriptive title, attach every ASIN including each child variation, and submit. Amazon requires a Professional account and three months of selling history, not Brand Registry. Menu names vary, so search the menu for "video."

Where is Upload and Manage Videos in Seller Central?

Most 2026 guides place it under Catalog or Inventory. Some accounts reach the same uploader through Catalog, Upload Images and a Videos tab, and one guide reports it under a Brands or Advertising menu in some regions. The quickest way is the Seller Central search box: type "video." If nothing appears, check your user permissions before assuming you are ineligible.

Can I add a video to Amazon without Brand Registry?

Yes. Amazon's Selling Partner Blog says you do not need Brand Registry to add video to a product detail page. You need a Professional selling account, at least three months of selling history and live listings, and the video only shows in the main media block if the product has fewer than six images. Brand Registry is still required for Premium A+ video, Brand Store video and Sponsored Brands video.

How long does it take for a video to show on Amazon?

Amazon says approved videos typically appear within three days, and holiday reviews can take up to seven business days. Premium A+ and Brand Store changes have their own queues, and Amazon says Sponsored Brands ads are generally reviewed within 72 hours. Upload at least a week before any launch or deal the video needs to support.

Why is my approved Amazon video not showing?

Check that it is attached to the exact child ASIN you are viewing, not only the parent. Count the images too: Amazon only shows video in the main media block when there are fewer than six. Then check for an ASIN typo and confirm the status really says approved. If everything is correct and a week has passed, open a Seller Support case listing the ASINs, the video title and the upload date.

Do I need to add the video to every variation?

Yes, for any variation you want it on. Shoppers land on a specific color or size, which is a child ASIN, and that page is where the carousel loads. Attach the video to each child in the uploader. New children added to the family later do not inherit existing videos, so attach them again when you add a variant.

How many videos can I add to an Amazon listing?

Amazon allows up to four videos per ASIN, according to its Selling Partner Blog. Order matters more than the maximum: Helium 10 reports the detail page tends to favor the most recently uploaded video, so upload your most important one last. Two or three strong videos that answer different shopper doubts beat four that repeat each other.

Can I edit a video after uploading it to Amazon?

No. Uploaded videos cannot be edited. To change a caption, a frame or the length, export a new file, upload it, wait for review, and then remove the old video from the ASINs. Keep your edit project files so a fix after a rejection takes minutes rather than a re-edit from scratch.

How do I add a video to A+ Content?

Only Premium A+ supports video. In A+ Content Manager, start a Premium A+ document, add a video module, upload the video and a poster frame, apply your ASINs and submit. If you do not see a Premium A+ option, your account has not qualified yet. Sources tie eligibility to a Brand Story on every ASIN and a run of approved A+ projects.

How do I add a video to my Amazon Brand Store?

In Seller Central, go to Stores, then Manage Stores, then Edit Store. In the tile manager, add a new section and choose a Video tile or a Background Video tile, upload the file and a required cover image, preview on mobile and submit for publishing. Store moderation can take several days, and the draft is locked while it is in review.

Can someone else upload a video to my Amazon listing?

Yes. Shoppers and creators can post to the Related Video Shorts section from their own customer accounts, which is also the fallback for sellers under three months of history. You do not control those videos or their order. If a friend, employee or paid creator posts one, Amazon Community Guidelines require them to clearly disclose the connection, and content whose main purpose is promotion is not allowed.

What video format does Amazon accept?

MP4 or MOV for listing videos, with 1280x720 as the commonly cited minimum resolution. Export 1920x1080 in 16:9 with H.264 so the same file can work across placements. Sponsored Brands video has stricter rules on length, audio and encoding. The full per-placement specs are in our Amazon video specs cheat sheet.
